This is the story of my attempt to complete L'Etape du Tour on July 16th 2007. And I'm aiming to raise at least £1000 for The Prostate Cancer Charity.

I Told You I Crashed The Cortina
What can I say? I look strangely satisfied but I'm putting on a brave face for the camera. Luckily nobody was hurt. A Cornish farmer wrote me a letter and told me I had killed a 500 year old stone wall.
Welcome to my blog.
On July 16th I'm taking part in L'Etape du Tour.
This is an endurance cycling event when 8500 amateur riders attempt to complete a stage of the Tour de France from Foix to Loudenvielle, a distance of 125 miles. The route will include 5 major mountain climbs in the Pyrenees. It will be a seriously tough challenge. To make it even more difficult, there is a strict time limit, so it's a race against the clock.
When I started this blog I was new to road cycling, and didn't even own a proper bike. And, I'm 47 years old, a father of two and have a full time job.
I'm also going to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity. As much as possible.... at least £1000.
I hope you enjoy my blog. If you feel able to donate, the easiest way is to click on the justgiving.com/etapeorbust link below.
